Description

The Cascate di Lillaz is a famous icefall of amazing beauty in the Cogne Valley, northern Italy. Most of this valley is included in the Gran Paradiso National Park. At the same time, it is part of the well known Aosta Valley.

I invite you to join me for one day of ice climbing in this beautiful icefall. Most important, you don’t need any previous experience! The Cascate di Lillaz is suitable for beginners as well as for climbers looking for easy or medium difficulty level ice waterfalls.

So, if you are new to ice climbing or you just want to put your skills in use, come and discover this amazing spot. Climbers who visit Cogne never miss a climb in the Cascate di Lillaz. They have become an undisputed attraction in the región.

The Cascate is also a very good “ice school” spot. So, if you have never tried ice climbing before, this is a great opportunity to finally venturing yourself into it! Besides, it’s easily reachable from the tiny village of Lillaz. It’s just a 15 minute walk.

Please note in order to join this ice climbing day, you should be in good physical shape. You should either train in the gym, or run (at least light running) or do regular trekking activities.

So contact me if you want to go ice climbing on the Cascate di Lillaz! I will be happy to guide you up there. We will spend a great time on this fantastic icefall.

Mountain Guide

Born in Aosta in 1970, I am an aspirant mountain guide and a passionate climber. For me, the lightning strike came in while climbing Punta Tzan with some friends: from that day on, my whole life has been the mountains and practicing mountain sports and activities.
Among my most significant ascents are: Mattehorn, Mont Blanc du Tacul, Aiguille Verte, Monviso and Mont Maudit, among others. I will be happy to guide you around my home region!

Everything was perfect. We had to bring forward the trip due to weather conditions and Remy was very flexible. He made us feel comfortable along the climb and everything went very easily although it was only our second 4000 ascension. He's a very nice and pleasant person. I highly recommend him!

Remy was a superb guide, would really recommend him! Warm and friendly personality. Very professional and knowledgeable, made us (beginners) feel comfortable during the trip. We had a lot of questions beforehand, all communication was clear, fast responses and Remy was always available by mail or phone. Also fast response by Explore-Share. The Gran Paradiso was amazing, especially the views, climb tough but very doable. Next time I would go skiing down instead of hiking.
