Ski touring in the Piemont

Close to the international ski area of the voie Lactée and thus of Montgenèvre, this stay will economize your physical fitness and your technique to let your pleasure flourish. The gentle slopes of this small massif make possible to dare your first glides on skis in Piedmont or enjoy this activity without pressure if you are already initiated.

Capanna Mautino, in Val Susa, in the heart of a mountain cirque with soft takes care of your progress in seal skins. All the charm of an authentic Italian refuge in human scale. Ideal for an introduction to ski touring in Piedmont.

Here is the program that I offer! This is indicative. It will be adapted to weather conditions and snow, and to the group level.

Day 0 – Meeting and preparation

Meeting at 6PM in the Argentiere la Bessée station or in Cesana Torinese / Oulx.

Journey preparation and equipment verification / rental.

Overnight at hotel in Cesana Torinese.

Day 1 – Off-piste skiing at the ski resort of Cesana Torinese / Montgenevre

Getting used to it and working on your ski technique.

Overnight at La Capanna Mautino refuge, at 2210 meters.

Positive vertical drop = 100 to 500m (30min to 2 hours)

Negative vertical drop = 1500 to 3000m

Day 2 – Cima Fournier Ski ascent (2424m)

2-way trip  or by crossing the Bousson pass.

Overight at La Capanna Mautino refuge.

Positive vertical drop = 600 to 800m (2 to 4 hours)

Negative vertical drop = 600 to 800m

Day 3 – Mont Courbioun Ski ascent (2430m)

Ski ascent of this beautiful summit and descent to Cesana Torinese and then back to Argentiere la Bessée.

Positive vertical drop = 400 to 800m (2 to 4 hours)

Negative vertical drop = 1100 to 1500m

We’ll have dinner at the hotel and at the refuge, and for lunch we will have a picnic in the mountains.
