Tucked into the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains in central California, a unique opportunity awaits intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders.

With the permission of the local resort in Bear Valley, we will head off into the “sidecountry”, a closed off part of the resort in which we have permission to ski.

The adventure begins after we meet up at Bear Valley at 8 am. From here, we will make our way to this closed off area and take full advantage of all the open powder bowls, scenic ridges and 1,000 vertical foot descents that await us.

For the next 6 to 8 hours, we will enjoy plenty of pristine and fluffy powder, incredible views into the majestically beautiful Sierra Nevada and no crowds with which to compete for fresh powder. There is no better way to ski or snowboard!

Due to the very nature of where we are going, this trip is only appropriate for intermediate and advanced level skiers and snowboarders due to the ungroomed terrain and technical requirement.

Situated at the heart of California’s Sierra Nevada mountains are the incredible slopes of Bear Valley and a unique opportunity for advanced backcountry skiers and splitboarders.

We will have exclusive access to “The Zones”, which boast steep chutes, open powder bowls and 1,000 foot vertical descents and are normally closed off to skiers at the nearby resort.

After meeting up at 8 am in Bear Valley, the fun begins and we head into “The Zones”. Using a combination of a snowcat, chair lifts and skins, we will escape from the confines of the ski resorts and head into the backcountry.

Once here, we will spend the next 6 to 8 hours enjoying some incredible skiing. Heading up to scenic ridge lines and flying down pristine and unspoiled powder will characterize the rest of our day.

The remote location of “The Zones” ensures that we will not run into any other skiers on our day out, ensuring that we can enjoy the tranquility of California’s nature and spend all of our time on the slopes, not waiting in line.

Located close by to the internationally renowned and famous Lake Tahoe, Bear Valley can often be overlooked for skiiers and snowboarders, resulting in the benefit of **crowds not being too overwhelming**, even in peak season.
