Despite its northern location, Sweden is warmer than other countries at the same latitude. The country has an oceanic and continental climate in the south and central regions, and a subarctic climate in the north. You can expect cold winters with cool and comfortable summers.. It is notable for receiving less precipitation than similarly geographically-situated countries.

Stockholm is the main transportation hub for Sweden, offering international flights and easy access to the European countries to its south. Oslo of Norway and Copenhagen of Denmark are very close to the Swedish border, so entering the country through these capital cities is also straightforward. To reach the north of the country, smaller regional airports and quaint country roads will lead you to wilderness destinations like the Lapland area and Abisko.
To avoid volatile weather and harsh conditions, most snow savvy travelers seek out Sweden in spring for the most favorable conditions. The snow is abundant while the weather is accommodating. Rock climbing is more enjoyable during the summer months.
Snuggled between Norway and Finland in northern Europe, Sweden is a winter sport paradise with unique and personalized programs. Its Arctic terrain and landscape adds to its exciting Norse culture. Tourists head to Sweden for its remote wilderness in the northern part of its country, popular for both the Midnight Sun and the Northern Lights. It is the third largest country in the European Union by area, though its sparse population, mostly inhabiting the southern part of the country, makes for exciting adventures away from the crowds.
Dick was experienced, personable and knew the area extremely well. He put us on a great climb in a beautiful setting and we had a fantastic day. Climb with Dick; you won’t be disappointed.
Really fun day climbing in Kullaberg. Anne was terrific and she showed us various technical routes on the rock and taught us how to lead climb. We ended the session with a nice refreshing swim in the crystal clear water. Amazing day!
I spent an astonishing week around Kebnekaise. Conditions were varied but thanks to Fred’s everlasting enthusiasm and knowledge of the area, we managed to lock in some memorable runs. The area has an incredible amount of possibilities; we could have stayed muuuch longer!
Fred is one of those who manage the fine balance between being the guide you trust and the guy you really enjoy to spend time with. By his down-to-earth and friendly way to treat his guests he creates a good platform for mountain adventures. At the same time he always knows where to find the best skiing, both in case of snow conditions and level of difficulty. We requested a glacier course for winter conditions, and ended up having fantastic days both skiing some amazing runs near Kebnekaise/Tarfala and learning a lot about rescue on glaciers. The area he picked was really an interesting area with possibilities both for skiing and glacier travel. Fred was a fantastic guide, knowing when to use the opportunity to get the best skiing and also managing to teach us what we needed. Thanks a lot Fred!
