Wales has a temperate climate, cloudy and cool most of the year. Summers rarely get hot. Snowdonia, in the north of the country, has a temperate maritime climate. Summers here are typically warm rather than hot, whereas winters are cool to cold. As in the rest of UK, the weather is unpredictable and you can see elements of all four seasons in one day.

Wales can be easily reached from the rest of the UK and continental Europe with flights into Cardiff Airport. From outside Europe, there are no direct flights to Wales. The best option is flying into London (Heathrow or Gatwick) and taking a connection flight to Cardiff from there. Otherwise you could also continue overland from London. If you are visiting North Wales, Manchester is better placed.
June to October is the warmest and driest period to enjoy hiking and climbing. For reasonably good weather and less crowds, you should visit in April-May and September-October. If you are planning to go to the beach or to camp, you’ll want to go between June and September.
Wales is a country part of the island of Great Britain and of the United Kingdom. Exploring this small and enchanting land opens up a world of adventures. Wales is not only a scrambling and hiking paradise, but it also has some fantastic beaches. The South and the West coasts are really popular among surfers. Wales is also the land of castles: they are absolutely everywhere! The heart of the Welsh culture is full of Celtic myths and historical legends. A trip to Wales wouldn’t be complete without visiting the great charming pubs you can find almost everywhere, with live music, great food and amazing beer.
An excellent day. Well planned, great guidance and tuition for my two children and very patient with them giving good advice and encouragement to get them to the top. Thoroughly recommend Richard and his team.
Rusty certainly knows his stuff.

I had an amazing day scrambling up North Ridge of Tryfan then Bristly Ridge walking to the Glyders and back Y Gribin. I was pushed me out of my comfort zone and I am really glad for it! The place is incredible! I can honestly say that was one of my best days of my life! Thank you! 🙂
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures!
