Wenn Schneeschuhwandern etwas ist, das Sie schon immer machen wollten, warum nicht jetzt? Und warum nicht auf der wunderschönen Insel Kvaloya, Norwegen? Begleiten Sie mich in der nächsten Saison auf ein einmaliges Erlebnis, direkt außerhalb von Tromsö.

Die erstaunliche Insel Kvaloya ist ein perfekter Ort für Schneeschuhwandern, im wunderbaren Licht des nordischen Winters. Außerdem kommen von November bis Mitte Januar Buckelwale und Orcas genau an diesen Ort im Kattfjord-Fjord.

Zuerst werde ich Sie entweder am Flughafen Zürich treffen, um nach Tromso zu fliegen, oder direkt in Tromso. Dort angekommen, fahren wir zum Kattfjord-Fjord auf der Insel Kvaloya.

Von Tag 2 bis 6 werde ich Sie auf Schneeschuhen durch verlassene Täler und karge Landschaften sowie buschige Haine führen. Vom Tverrfjellet (525 m) aus werden wir einen einzigartigen Blick auf den Fjord haben. Und vom Gipfel des Vasstranddalen werden wir das magische Schauspiel der Wale erleben, die nach ihren Heringen springen. Am Tag 7 fahren wir zurück nach Tromsö und fliegen nach Hause.

Die täglichen Touren in diesem Programm sind einfach und für Anfänger geeignet und dauern zwischen 4 und 5 Stunden. Angesichts der einzigartigen Wetterbedingungen zu dieser Jahreszeit, mit der Sonne unter dem Horizont, können wir die ersten Nordlichter beobachten, mit den Walen nur wenige Meter von uns entfernt.

In Bezug auf die Ausrüstung benötigen Sie: Schneeschuhe, Skistöcke, Wander- oder Bergstiefel, Stirnlampe und Winterkleidung (die durchschnittliche Temperatur im Januar beträgt -4,4°C/24°F).

Ein reichhaltiges Frühstück und Abendessen wird von Ulrica zubereitet. Flüge von Zürich nach Tromso und zurück sind ebenfalls inbegriffen. Abflüge aus Deutschland oder Österreich sind auf Anfrage möglich.

I became a professional mountain guide after discovering that mountains and wild nature meant the life to me. In 1983 I completed my studies and started an amazing journey. I have been constantly on the road ever since, up in the Alps and on mountains and trekking areas on every continent.

Before I started taking guests on tours, my wife Ulrica was my climbing partner. Together, we spent many autumns in the Klausenpass climbing walls. After our daughter Heidi was born, she started coming along on our tours around the world. Later, our son Thomas and daughter Christina would join us. Even later, our granddaugther Jana came into our lives. All three of our children have become mountaineers as well. I am proud to say that world-strolling is in their blood too.

Having led groups in the Alps and other parts of the world for a long time, I witnessed how the alpine mountain landscape changed over the years. When I started off, we had to cook in the huts for ourselves. We now see suites, whirpools and saunas. Technical difficulties up in the mountain are mitigated with chains and wire ropes - a new way to live the mountain in a time-saving manner. Climbing routes that were inaccessible before have now been made open for the general public.

My heart lives for having more and more original natural experiences. This is the kind of experiences that have made us addicted to the mountain. I continue to strive for taking my guests off the beaten and better-known tracks. This is my commitment to you. I hope you can join me soon!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger.
