Depending on your availability, you could either stick around near Sarajevo, to save time commuting, or head out into the wilderness in the north and west of the country.

Around the capital, you could easily had to the Bjelašnica massif, which offers plenty of excellent freeride opportunities on its multiple peaks. It is also home to one of the most popular resorts in the country.

There are also several other options nearby. Igman, Jahorina, Trebević, and Treskavica all provide some excellent skiing and scenic views as well.

During the winter, temperatures range around freezing, but get colder in the highlands. Snow is quite frequent as winter is the wettest season in the country.
