High mountain ascents involve mountaineering on the significantly tall objectives, like the Himalayas and the Andes. It necessitates substantial preparation and equipment, including belay systems and ropes, helmets and harnesses, ice climbing tools, and specific safety gear. High mountain excursions can last upwards of two months, requiring the highest levels of strength, perseverance, and fitness. Expert climbers often face insurmountable challenges, so a wealth of experience is needed to safely and successfully complete an expedition.

While reaching a summit is a primary goal, high mountain ascents also focus on safely accomplishing technical climbing obstacles and traverses. Certified mountain guides are a vital part of a program and its success. Ascents are best attempted in the summer months with respect to the hemispheres, when the weather is less volatile and more accommodating.

Even though we turned around at 5900m due to avalanche danger I really enjoyed the climb and Segundo was a great guide – professional and friendly.

I am writing in regards to the tour my husband and I took to Chimborazo November 3-4,2018.
We had a very great time and were lucky enough to make the hike to the summit.
The guide who picked us up from Hotel San Francisco was very nice and on time as expected, his name was Jaun Carlos.
Once we arrived for dinner Jaun Carlos introduced us to our guide who we’d be hiking with the next day, his name is Fausto. Both guides were professional and very helpful. Once we all made it to the summit our camera died and we were unable to take any photos. Thankfully Fausto had his phone available and was able to capture several pictures and a couple videos.

Awesome climb!!

Everything was perfect. We had to bring forward the trip due to weather conditions and Remy was very flexible. He made us feel comfortable along the climb and everything went very easily although it was only our second 4000 ascension. He’s a very nice and pleasant person. I highly recommend him!

(1) We are all very happy with the experience. Everyone got a real feeling to at least some of the mountaineering life aspect. (2) Guides were all great and we had a great time + learned quite a bit in a very short time. (3) We got as far as each of us could this time. One of us reached the summit – others had to stop at different stages – but that is all part of the adventure. Overall very happy and definitely see a value in a service like Explore-Share.

A fantastic trip! Segundo was a wonderful guide and made the trip a lot of fun. Even during difficult weather and when things didn’t go as expected, he kept a positive attitude and continued to motivate me when I was beginning to lose momentum. I would absolutely recommend this trip and Lonely Summits to anyone looking to visit the beautiful country of Ecuador – whether you’re an experienced climber or not, the services provided by Lonely Summits are fantastic for any skill level or price point.

I had an excellent experience with Andean Summit Adventure during my recent climb of Volcano Cotopaxi. Elisabeth did a tremendous job coordinating all of the logistics details for my trip while I was still in the United States. Jaime Vargas, my guide, provided a first-rate, safe, and excellent experience during the climb itself. I was completely happy with the support that Andean Summit Adventure provided me and I highly recommend them as a tour/guide service for outings in South America.

Remy was a superb guide, would really recommend him! Warm and friendly personality. Very professional and knowledgeable, made us (beginners) feel comfortable during the trip. We had a lot of questions beforehand, all communication was clear, fast responses and Remy was always available by mail or phone. Also fast response by Explore-Share.
The Gran Paradiso was amazing, especially the views, climb tough but very doable. Next time I would go skiing down instead of hiking.

I’m writing this short review as I’m often asked by climbing friends who shall I climb with on Aconcagua?

Let me tell you !hand on my heart INKA is the best on the mountain.!

I have climbed across the globe Alaska, Andes, Himalaya and in the Karakoram in Pakistan.

I have have utilised INKA on two occasions and I believe they have the best knowledge and logistics on the mountain. Their staff care about YOU.. as you are their number one priority.

They will ensure your time on the mountain is safe and you return safe even if you don’t reach the summit.

So many times I have watched operators in other countries guiding clients to the summit when they should have been turned around, this has been with drastic results.

That is why I always use professional companies and word of mouth . Trust me INKA are the best.

Aconcagua is a tough challenge high altitudes coupled by sometimes extreme cold , require you to be fit mentally and physically.

I have in the past fell to AMS and had to turn around near a summit, that is the smart thing to do.! Better to go home and re plan , the mountain will always be there. I’ve lost friends on mountains and speak from experience.

INKA guides are registered and highly experienced, they will watch you carefully and monitor your oxygen levels and general well being throughout your climb.

There is an excellent set up at Plaza de Mulas where if you need a rest day you will be cared for.

Many of my friends have used INKA and I will continue to recommend them for their expertise

A+++ fantastic guide, very professional, knowledgeable and entertaining. Thank you Cristian for a memorable day!

I booked a four days trip with Alex to climb Tolima. Alex is a very experienced mountain guide and also very socialable. He knows to ask you the right questions to make your climb successfully and well organised.

Unfortunately I got sick and had to break up at 3700 metres. Alex cared the rest of the time about me while I was recovering in the mountain hut and later in the hotel.

Alex is also a great doctor not only a excellent mountain guide. Thx for taking care of me. See you soon, Felix

Felix Hohlfeld for Ascent to Nevado del Tolima

the infrastructure supporting the expedition is perfect and the team very professional. Really Aconcagua Specialists!!

Ricardo Santucci for Climbing Mount Aconcagua, 18 days

The guide was not Sebastian Tetilla but Javier Guiterez and Matias Hidalgo Nicosia

Jens Hauge Andersen for Climbing Mount Aconcagua, 18 days

They totally rock! They made everything to be perfect. Best in town if you are thinking about Aconcagua. Professionals, they are passionate about what they do. Long story short: contact them and let the game begin!

Guide and overall climb were great. Would highly recommend it.

Gaston Oyarzun is obviously an excellent climber/mountaineer, but he lacks a great deal of organization/logistics. This applies to all aspects of the expedition, from food to itinerary.
