Austria’s northwesternmost state of Tyrol is home to most of the country’s top hut-to-hut skiing.

Hut-to-hut treks are particularly common in the Ötztal valley. Here, ski tourers can pass by and enjoy fantastic views of Similaun, Weißkugel and the Wildspitze by day, heading up to some of their slopes and enjoying fantastic descent.

After a long day out on the slopes, several of the huts in this region are known for their saunas, which is a great way to unwind and relax after a long day out in the snow.

With more than 200 kilometers of trails, Arlberg is another popular hut-to-hut destination. Here, you can even head over into Switzerland and Italy for a bit too, which is always a treat.
