Hut-to-hut skiing is a type of ski touring that involves traveling fairly long distances each day and staying in a different hut each night. It is the perfect activity for people looking to really explore a region without having to worry about returning to the same spot each night. Hut-to-hut skiing involves a solid level of ski knowledge as you will spend the entirety of your trip on ungroomed snow. It also requires a high level of physical fitness since you will usually be required to carry your belonging with you each day, so pack light. Due to the hazards of avalanche and inclement weather, you should never hut-to-hut ski alone. It is highly recommended to hire a certified guide who will know where to go to get the best views as well as the safest routes upon which to travel.

We were a large group of 15 guys that spend one week with Andrey and his colleagues (because of the
group size we had two additional guides). Andrey is a great guide and a good organiser. From we ordered until we arrived Andrey was available on Whatsapp and responded almost imminently to all our questions. When we landed we were meet by Andrey at the airport and a fleet of large SUV`s that took us to the base camp that was the starting point from the touring. The base camp was located far up in the mountains on the Kazakhstan border. The accommodations where ok, with a nice sauna as a pleasant surprise. The ski touring was nice in variated terrain. We were a bit unlucky with unstable snow conditions forcing us to ski a bit less steep than we hoped for, but the area got massive potential for nice skiing. We decided to end touring after five days in the mountain and spend the last night in Bishkek. There Andrey stepped into the role of a tourist guide and showed us around town, a really nice gesture which we did not expect. Overall a trip I would recommend to anyone wanting to ski in a country you would not expect to travel to. And when you go, Andrey is your choice for guide 😉
I am delighted with the ski trip to the Pirin Mountains. These are the most beautiful and unusual places with
beautiful nature. I booked a trip to Georgiy Georgiev, but for some reason my guide was not he, but Milena Padalska. However, I do not regret it at all. Milena is a very experienced smart and attentive guide. She organized the trip perfectly and helped me to choose the equipment. She very sensibly corrected the routes, in accordance with the weather and my technical and physical abilities. Despite the not quite favorable weather, we did not miss a single day of trekking. And Milena is very contact and interesting person and an charming woman.
Our trip with Georgy in Bulgaria’s Pirin Mountains went perfectly. Georgy is a great guide, clearly knows the region extraordinarily
well, and did everything to make this trip fun, comfortable, safe and memorable for our group of four. Plus, he’s fun to spend time with. I can’t speak highly enough for him and absolutely recommend him for any guiding needs.
I spent an astonishing week around Kebnekaise. Conditions were varied but thanks to Fred’s everlasting enthusiasm and knowledge of the
area, we managed to lock in some memorable runs. The area has an incredible amount of possibilities; we could have stayed muuuch longer!
We organised in advance a very bespoke ski touring itinerary with Georgy in Bulgaria. He was flexible and able to
accommodate our precise itinerary whilst also recommending if it was feasible, what the snow conditions were like and what grade of touring/mountaineering/skiing was possible. He was also able to arrange all logistics and accommodation where necessary. He was actually busy for the dates that we wanted but introduced us to Hristo who we We ski toured for 5 days hut-to-hut in both the Rila and Pirin mountain ranges, both equally rewarding and stunning. Hristo, our guide, was excellent, personable and above all showed us a great time in the mountains – challenging us on the uphill and downhill and keeping us aware of and safe in the terrain. It was a fascinating trip which opened my eyes to foreign cultures and new mountain ranges. See Bulgaria, you won’t be disappointed.
J’ai la chance de skier chaque année avec Steph depuis qu’il est guide. Il trouve toujours d’excellents plans ski et
rando en valais ou ailleurs. Steph est ultra professionnel et le fait qu’il soit sauveteur est certainement un plus!
Fred is one of those who manage the fine balance between being the guide you trust and the guy you
really enjoy to spend time with. By his down-to-earth and friendly way to treat his guests he creates a good platform for mountain adventures. At the same time he always knows where to find the best skiing, both in case of snow conditions and level of difficulty. We requested a glacier course for winter conditions, and ended up having fantastic days both skiing some amazing runs near Kebnekaise/Tarfala and learning a lot about rescue on glaciers. The area he picked was really an interesting area with possibilities both for skiing and glacier travel. Fred was a fantastic guide, knowing when to use the opportunity to get the best skiing and also managing to teach us what we needed. Thanks a lot Fred!
