More Info

Italy has a number of great bodies of water, included gorges and rivers, that are best appreciated from a kayak. Most lakes in the northern part of the country have access points at the shore that make it easy to get your boat into the water.

While the Mediterranean Sea does have great kayaking spots, including some around Capri, Cinque Terre, and even onto Sardinia, the lakes of the north are the best place to experience the sport. Some are incredibly large and relatively available throughout the summer.

Depending on the weather, you can find appropriate kayaking programs as early as April and even into November. Hiring a qualified guide will ensure you make the most of your trip no matter where you happen to be located in Italy.
