Located in the easternmost reaches of Canada’s western province of British Columbia, Revelstoke is home to some of the best off-piste skiing available on the continent.

Sitting on the western slopes of the Canadian Rockies, Revelstoke is in close proximity to several prominent peaks, including Albert Peak, as well as Canada’s Glacier National Park.

The small resort town is surrounded by Eagle Pass to the west and Rogers pass to the east, both of which make for excellent off-piste days. Be sure to spend at least a week exploring the lovely and stunningly scenic backcountry around Revelstoke.

However, this won’t be enough time to see everything and will leave you planning your next trip here as soon as you’ve left.

What’s the weather like?

During the winter months, average daily temperatures range from -2 °C to 2 °C, which temperatures feeling colder due to windchill and dropping at night as well as at higher elevations. Snow is plentiful throughout the ski season as well, beginning to fall in November and sticking well into April. Expect between 9 and 15 days of snow per month throughout the winter season.

How to get there:

Any trip to Revelstoke will begin with a flight into Calgary International Airport (YCC). From here it is probably easiest to rent a car and make the 4,5 hour drive along Route 1. Buses and airport shuttles are also available.
