Guided multi-pitch climbing around Arco, Sarca Valley
- 1 reviews
From single-pitch to airy multi-pitch routes that will remind you of the Dolomites, there is something for everyone in the Sarca Valley
One of Italy’s most well-known rock climbing destinations, Arco (in Trento’s Sarca Valley) is probably most famous for the variety of rock climbing terrain available. From great bolted sport climbing routes on excellent limestone (mostly single-pitch), to long big wall climbing routes that can reach 1,000m, it is no wonder this place has made a name for itself among climbers. If it’s big wall climbing you are after, the walls of Monte Brento, Piccolo Dain and Monte Casale are probably the most famous spots.
Weather is mild in general but you probably want to avoid the winter months, as strong winds make it too cold to climb. Temperatures generally stay within the 10-20℃ range from April-June and from September to early November.
Fly into the Verona or the Brescia airports and drive to Arco (a little over an hour away). Make sure you hire a car to be able to go from one route to the next. Milano’s Bergamo airport is another option, though an extra hour away from Arco.
Autumn and Spring are best although Arco is also popular during the Summer when it gets wet in the Dolomites, just 2.5 hours away.
Enrico is a great guide and the climbing is amazing. Highly recommended.
Super chill guy. Had a great time. Laughed and learned a lot.
