Located in the North Atlantic, Iceland is a Nordic island country, and the most sparsley populated in Europe. The country is volcanically and geologically active. Because of the high latitude, the climate in Iceland is cold, windy and cloudy for most of the year, but with a limited temperature variation between summer and winter, and between day and night. In July and August, the lows in Reyjkavik are around 9 °C and highs around 14 °C. On the north coast the temperature average in summer is around 10/12 °C, although there are some high records around 26ºC .
