In the winter months, cold waves from the north and north east bring snow and freezing temperatures in most of Bosnia. The average temperature in Sarajevo in January is -0.5ºC, but during cold waves the temperature can drop to -20ºC. In the high mountains the climate gets naturally colder in winter.

Getting there

Sarajevo International Airport is the busiest airport in the country and the best way to get in Bosnia, with flights all over Europe and the Middle East.
