More Info

Iran is one of those countries that is mentioned a lot in the news, but not many people know what goes on there from day to day.

Ski touring is a great reason to go to the large central Asian nation (Iran is not in the Middle East, a mistake that is widely made) and meet some of the people as well as explore the culture.

Iran is home to 22 UNESCO world heritage sites and is also the stage for other popular outdoor activities, including hiking and mountaineering.

Almost every trip to Iran will begin and end with a flight into or out of Tehran. Be sure to spend a few days in the country’s large and impressive metropolitan capital.
