More Info

Zakopane is located right next to the Tatra National Park, only 1,5 hour driving from Krakow and 6 hours from the capital city of Warsaw. It is also just a few kilometers away from the Slovak border. Zakopane is a hiking paradise in summer, and a very popular winter destination for skiers and snowboarders. Southern Poland has a culture all its own, and you will discover it in Zakopane. The unique Góralski (Highlander) culture has traditions, wooden architecture and food, distinctly different from the rest of the country. Don’t leave without trying some traditional Polish and highlander specialties, like the Oscypki, a delicious smoked cheese.

Best time to visit

Although you can visit Zakopane from June to October if you are after hiking, the best time for a trekking trip in Zakopane is September, when the days are still long, weather is good -although cool- and there are no crowds. In July and August the easier trails and most popular peaks may get crowded, but you will find a lot of cultural and recreational events going on in Zakopane.

What People Say

Helena was previously booked so I was guided by Beata. Beata was highly accommodating, passionate about her mountains, architecture
and people, and went above and beyond what I had paid for! She was particularly careful to keep me safe at all times as the mountain top was icy and slippery – but there was no problem. Beata was so kind in showing me around Zakopane as well and introducing me to friends and family – even asked me join her friends on a day trip out of Zakopane to see some other beautiful areas around the area. Beata was at all times curious as to what it was I loved to do and see. Truly an amazing and unforgettable experience! Beata was wonderful! Thank you for the experience, challenges and memories.
Good Communication, very knowledgeable about the hike and the surrounding areas history! Mt Giewont was breathtaking mid October. Perfect weather!
Would highly recommend the Guide and the Hike : )
