**Cordón del Plata, located about 100 km from Mendoza City, is a group of mountains part of the front range of the Andes**. With elevations ranging between 4000 and 5000 meters, it offers awesome challenges for hiking and mountaineering lovers.

Our 4-day tour invites you to explore this region and try to reach two of its prized summits: **Adolfo Calle (4296m) and Stepanek (4194m).** We will meet in Mendoza, and after a car-transfer to Vallecitos, the adventure will begin! We will **cross an amazing terrain and live an unforgettable mountaineering experience**. Furthermore, we will spend 3 nights in charming mountain huts or campings surrounded by a **unique alpine landscape**.

Keep in mind that this tour does not require previous climbing experience. However, you will need a **good fitness level** to deal with the altitude! Of course, I will be available at all times to help and guide you.

The meeting point will be the YPF gas station which is in front of the bus terminal. From there, the group will be transferred to Vallecitos. Once there, we will set in a mountain hut.

##### The **Andes** is an impressive mountain range in **South America**. And within this vast range, the **Cordon del Plata** stands out. Located in **Argentina**, and covering most of the province of **Mendoza**, it has many important peaks that rise above the **4,000 and 5,000 meters.** Two of the most dazzling ones are **Cerro Adolfo Calle** and **Cerro Stepanek**.

One of the most important places in the **Cordon del Plata** is the **Vallecitos ski center**. It is only 80 kilometers outside of **Mendoza city**. Thus giving you the opportunity to explore not only all the **natural wonders** of this province, but the beautiful city of **Mendoza** as well. There are plenty of things to do there, including a city tour that will take you around this charming city.

And, once you get to Vallecitos, you’ll be amazed by all the magnificent mountains around. The peaks that stand out are: **cerro Vallecitos (5.460m), cerro Adolfo Calle** **(4,200m)**, and **cerro Stepanek (4,100m)**. The highest one is **cerro El Plata (5,968m)** and the **Plata peak (5,845m)**. But there are many other equally beautiful that surround this area.

Our goal will be to reach the summit of **Adolfo Calle** and **Stepanek**. It will be a wonderful **3-days journey**, with the absolutely most breathtaking sceneries all throughout. Also, both peaks are perfect for those with previous experience climbing smaller mountains, and are looking for a bigger challenge.

My goal is to ensure **have a wonderful time**, while r**eaching the summit of both peaks and being safe the whole time**. So I’ll make sure we follow all the rules necessary to have a safe journey and a successful ascent.

This **Three 4-thousander ascents in Mendoza** is your chance to live an intense adventure in the Andes!

And the way to get it done is to go deep into the beautiful **Cordón del Plata Provincial Park**. This natural paradise is located 80 km west of **Mendoza** and was created to protect the great amount of permanent ice, glaciers and andean biodiversity. Because of its great diversity it's one of the most important biological area in the andean tundra.

Up in the park, we'll camp in **Veguitas camp site (3200 m)** from where there is a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. And from here we'll hike to **mount San Bernardo (4200 m)** one day and to **mounts Adolfo Calle (4200 m) and Stepanek (4100)** the next day.

Although this ascents aren't technically difficult, they required to be in good shape and a bit of previous mountaineering experience. It will take us between 4 and 7 days depending on the weather conditions and your acclimatization.

Today I am inviting you to an amazing ascent to **Cerro Adolfo Calle** at 4.270 meters of height. On the way we will visit The Silver Cordon, Vallecitos and of course, the capital of Mendoza.

For more information about this climb to **Cerro Adolfo Calle**, read the following itinerary:

**DAY 1: MENDOZA – LAS VEGUITAS CAMP**

We will meet in the city of Mendoza. Check our personal and group equipment or if necessary, equipment rental. After that, we will be transferred to Vallecitos up to the huts zone at 2.9000 meters. We have the option of sleeping in a mountain hut or setting our camp in Las Veguitas at 3.200m, with the help of porters.

**DAY 2: CERRO ADOLFO CALLE SUMMIT – LAS VEGUITAS CAMP**

At dawn we start our ascent to **Cerro Adolfo Calle**. The positive vertical drop will reach up to 1.000 meters above sea level. We will take with us the food gear, necessary water and lunch. Once we get to the summit we descend to Las Veguitas Camp again, where we spend the night.

**DAY 3: LAS VEGUITAS – HUTS ZONE – MENDOZA CITY**

We will leave our camp in order to continue the descent to the huts area, where our transfer will be waiting for us. It will take us back to Mendoza to celebrate with a delicious barbecue (known as “Asado” in Argentina).
