The province of Mendoza lies across the central west region of Argentina, along the border with Chile. The province of Mendoza is home to the enormous Aconcagua, which at 6,960 meters above sea level is the highest mountain in both the Southern and Western Hemisphere.
The province is dominated by a continental climate. The lowlands are hot in summer while the higher altitude sections are cooler.
