**I invite you to walk along beautiful rock formations, swim in turbulent and crystalline waters, and go down slides and abseils on this 1-day canyoning trip in La Buitrera!**

My team and I were the first to explore this beautiful canyon and until now, only a few people were able to join us. That’s why is my absolute honor to invite you to show you some of the best hidden treasures of the beautiful Argentinean region of Patagonia.

**Our starting point will be in El Bolsón,**  a charming town in the Province of **Río Negro** located just 130 km from Bariloche. From there, we’ll transfer in a private vehicle (2 hours) to the beginning of our canyoning adventure and after a 40 minute walk, we’ll be ready to start. **It will take us between 5 and 7 hours to explore the entire canyon.** 

**Please keep in mind that La Buitrera canyon presents an important technical challenge. That’s why participants will need a good fitness level** as well as **some prior canyoning experience.**

Would you like to visit a beautiful natural environment for advanced canyoning? Then take part in this **2-day program** and discover **Cajón del Azul**.  Do not miss this chance to explore it!

Cajón del Azul is located in **El Bolsón**, a city in the Argentinean province of **Río Negro**. The canyon is in an idyllic setting that you can only enter walking. On **day 1**, we’ll hike to a nearby refuge that will take us around **2.30 hours**. Once there, we’ll check our equipment and prepare for the next day. On **day 2**, we’ll go through this incredible canyon. The entrance is breathtaking and resembles a big cave.

As it is **40 meters deep** and  **1 meter wide**, Cajón del Azul won’t allow us to see the light very often while canyoning. Because of these conditions and the high river tide, this program is aimed at **experts canyoneers** with **background experience** and a **very good fitness level**.

Join me on a great **1-day via ferrata tour in Bariloche,** a mountain town located in the southern **province of Rio Negro**, in North Patagonia. Bariloche is famous for its breathtaking scenery of stunning blue lakes and beautiful mountains.

Our adventure takes place in the area around **Arroyo de la Virgen, near the East Moreno Lake,** 20 km away from Bariloche. You will discover a natural environment of amazing beauty. Arroyo de la Virgen is located in the road that goes from Colonia Suiza to Cerro Catedral.

Our De la Virgen Via Ferrata is **the first via ferrata in Argentina**, with a route that runs over more than 100 meters of altitude, on both sides of the Virgin’s Canyon, using ziplines to cross it.

A via ferrata is a vertical and horizontal climbing route with diverse aids, like iron steps, handrails, suspension bridges and ziplines. These elements allow hikers and people with no climbing experience to safely reach areas otherwise difficult to access.

The route lasts about 2 or 3 hours and allow you to **reach a peak with a spectacular view over Mount Campanario, Cerro Otto and up to Bariloche**. Once in the top, we will have a snack (tea, coffee or mate and a pudding), before we start the descent. We will walk downhill for about 20 minutes.

Please note this route is even **suitable for children from 1,40m high** and you don’t need any previous climbing experience. However, you need to be in good physical shape and with a good head for heights.

You will enjoy an unforgettable adventure surrounded by spectacular landscapes, with certified guides and the best and safest equipment, complying with the current international standards on PPE (Individual Protection Equipment).

The safety of our route is provided by a steel cable installed in the whole track and also by the harness, equipped with a power dissipator and a rope with two special Ferrata carabiners that assure you in case of fall.

We also use a high security rope to get hooked to the steel cable. This system does not allow you to make mistakes, as **it avoids the accidental opening of the two connectors at the same time.** This system is called _click-it_ and is **the safest way to give freedom and continous protection** to the user.

How does it work? When one connector opens the other closes automatically. The accidental release of the two carabiners at once is impossible. This system allows you to practice an activity in height with **maximum safety, in total freedom, with maximum efficiency**.

**Arroyo de la Virgen Day Program – Full day, 6 hours – Low difficulty**

We travel from Bariloche to the area of East Moreno lake, from where we walk 20 minutes to the beginning of the canyon. There we prepare the equipment, and once we have the neoprene suits, the harness and helmets on, we start the descent. Doing short rappelling and following waterfalls and pools we arrive to a natural slide, which takes us to ‘Cascada El Vasco’, of more than 30 meters. We descend it rappelling, to enjoy a paradisiac pool where it ends. From there we do two more rappels until we reach the shore of the lake, where we can jump from the dock and swim. The day ends with a well deserved and tasty snack.

Canyoning is an activity in which we travel in canyons using a variety of techniques, such as swimming, rappelling in waterfalls and jumping into natural pools. It’s great fun, and you’ll enjoy the beautiful surroundings in a beautiful area of Bariloche!

There are two options for canyoning in Arroyo Lopez, which was one of the first canyons opened in the region:

**Arroyo López – Full Day – Moderate difficulty**

We drive from Bariloche to the base of Cerro Lopez, from where we walk for an hour until the beggining of lower Lopez canyon. There we prepare the equipment, and start the descent doing some rappelling. The gorge starts to narrow more and more, until it suddenly opens. From this point on we enjoy a beautiful view of the lakes, and we go over several waterfalls.  We end up in the last waterfall, which is 38 meters high.

**Arroyo López Integral – Full day – Moderate difficulty, physically demanding**

We drive from Bariloche to the base of Cerro Lopez, from where we walk an hour and a half to the beggining of the canyon, at the foot of the refuge. From there we go down to the lower López doing some rappelling and following narrow gorges with numerous drops. From this point on we continue as described in the above program.
