At 3724 m, **Mount Cook** (also called **Aoraki** in Maori language) is the highest mountain in **New Zealand.** 

It's a massive peak with five sides, six faces and seven main ridges.

This is a challenging climbing, as there's no easy route to the top and it involves ascending on ice, snow and rock surfaces. However, reaching the summit will make you feel satisfaction and a deep sense of achievement.

In fact, due to the complicated terrain, I decide to organice expeditions for just one climber at a time.

The starting point of this trip will be the city of **Wanaka**, from where we'll go to **Mount Cook Village**. Once there, we'll take a flight to get to **Plateau Hut.** 

Although it's possible to walk there (it takes from 12 to 16 hours), I recommend flying because we can save the time of the usual recovery day. That way, we can spend more time actually climbing in the high mountains.

Besides, we can take advantage of the fine weather 'windows', a typical feature of the maritime climate of New Zealand. It's worth mentioning that the trip's price includes the access flight.

Meet your guide in **Mount Cook Village** or in **Wanaka** for the drive to Mount Cook.

This ski touring program in New Zealand’s Southern Alps is a great way to discover these beautiful mountains!

Ski giant glaciers and alpine peaks with our ski touring programs in **Westland, Mt Cook and Aspiring National Parks**. We will choose the destination depending on snow and weather conditions and you can choose the length of your trip.

We’ll also use the tour as an opportunity to **improve your ski touring skills**. You can tell us what you’d like to work on!

On day 1, we’ll meet at our office in Wanaka, where we’ll present you with an itinerary for our trip. You can also rent your equipment here if you need to.

Then, **we’ll drive to the start of our trip (1 to 3 hours, depending on the destination you chose: Westland, Mount Cook or Aspiring National Park).** From there, we’ll board the plane or helicopter and fly deep into the mountains!

We’ll choose the best itinerary for you depending on your ski abilities and snow and weather conditions. We’ll be skiing on glaciers while taking advantage of our time together to work on different aspects of you ski mountaineering techniques. In the evening, we’ll share a meal and talk about the day’s adventures with fellow skiers in cozy mountain huts. And then, on the last day, we’ll ski back down to lower elevation and, once there, fly back to the car.

We decide between Westland, Mt Cook and Aspiring National Parks depending on conditions. **Each of them offers stunning views of the surrounding area and an amazingly varied selection of bowls, glaciers and peaks to explore.** 

You can either come by yourself or bring a group along with you. We have a standard 6-day program but you can also choose to add days if you’ve got the availability (up to 10 days).

This **5-day ice climbing course in Wye Creek, Queenstown**, in New Zealand’s southern island will turn you into an accomplished ice climber in no time.

First, we’ll take a **helicopter to access the ice climbing area in Wye Creek**. It is indeed the best spot in the country! Then, we will focus on developing lead climbing skills. By the end of the course, you will be familiar with all current ice climbing techniques.

Mt Brewster is located in New Zealand's Southern Alps, near Haast Pass, on the Main Divide. This 2-day trek will take you hiking in this beautiful area and you'll even get the chance to **walk on Brewster Glacier**!

The starting point for this 2-day trek is just a short driving distance away from our office in Wanaka. This hike offers a **true alpine adventure**!

It has the advantage of **not receiving many visitors**. It's a secret gem in one of the corners of Aspiring National Park. Thus, **you'll enjoy magnificent views all along this 2-day hike!**

We will start by crossing the Haast River at Fantail Falls. From there, a steep ascent through breech forest will take us to Brewster Hut. This hut is situated in the most stunning spot and, from here, we'll have to choose between **hiking to Brewster Glacier** or **climbing to the summit of nearby Mt Armstrong (2179m).**

After our hike on the second day, we'll go back down to Fantail Falls and then drive back to Wanaka. However, we'll have to make a short stop along the way to **get ice cream at the Makarora** rural settlement.

**I invite you to join me on this unique 7-day adventure to the Mount Aspiring (3033 m) summit, one of the most beautiful mountains in New Zealand’s Southern Alps.** 

We’ll take advantage of the ascent to do a mountaineering course. You’ll be a competent mountaineer by the end of the week!

**Mount Aspiring (3033 m)** is a mountain in the Otago region of **New Zealand**, also known as the “Matterhorn of the South”. The Maori people of New Zealand also call it Tititea, which means “glittering peak”.

This mountain offers several high-quality climbing routes and different levels, from the North West Ridge to the South West Ridge. All of them take around 14 to 16 hours to complete.

The starting points to climb Mount Aspiring is either **Bevan Col** or **Colin Todd Hut**. A helicopter or ski-plane will take us there. This will allow us to save days of heavy load-carrying so we arrive fresh to the base. At the same time, we can concentrate on our climbing objective and take advantage of the good weather periods.

Meet your guide in Wanaka, check gear, drive to the road end and fly into the mountains in the early afternoon. A two hour walk across the Bonar Glacier takes us to Colin Todd Hut. Alternatively we may opt to camp in our tent camp on Bevan Col.
