Description

Would you like to discover a magical land in Switzerland? Come with me on this 1-day hike and explore the gorgeous Schwarzsee Lake, among other beautiful spots.

Situated at the base of the Matterhorn, the Schwarzsee Lake lies above Zermatt, in the Canton of Valais. This fairy tale region is well worth visiting and is an incredible place to go hiking.

This program has a duration of around 6 hours . First we’ll meet in Zermatt and then we’ll begin our hike through the woods until we reach the small village of Zmutt. Then, we’ll continue the walk to the Schwarzsee Lake, situated at 2,552 meters above sea level. Once there, we’ll contemplate the north side of the stunning Matterhorn as well as the Breithorn and Mount Rosa. Finally, we’ll follow a steep road to Furi and continue through woods and meadows to the village of Blatten, from where we’ll go back to Zermatt.

Please, consider that we’ll face an elevation gain of around 1,000 meters so it is very important to be physically fit.

Urs, our main mountain guide, was very helpful in answering my queries before the course, and Lupe from explore-share was helpful in selecting the course. We had 3 groups under Urs, Mario and Patrick, and I was in the group with Patrick. He gave us a lot of nice tips and individualized video analysis. He made a special effort to convey everything in English, since I don't know German. All the participants were very helpful and friendly too! The course is good value for money as skis are included for the weekend in the course price.
