Head for the thick of adventure in the Rocky Mountain wilderness of British Columbia and dive into a week-long mountaineering camp on the Mons Icefield! This guided program gives you a chance to learn and apply a wide array of techniques and skills in a beautiful Canadian backcountry for an unforgettable experience for intrepid travelers!

The Mons Icefield sits on the border of British Columbia and Alberta in Western Canada. Sweeping views abound of glaciers and peaks, with six exceeding 11,000 feet within its vicinity. Cut from years of glacial movement and rivers, the canyons and valleys have lush wilderness that is iconic and symbolic of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

You can put your mountaineering skills to the test by immersing yourself in this gorgeous landscape for a week of camping. Over the course of seven days, you will enjoy raw alpine climbing and hiking through this beautiful country. Our time will be spent enjoying the immensity of nature and all of its forms, traversing exposed ridges and vast glaciers.

Our guides have an in-depth knowledge of the region, so we can show you its profound and enchanting backcountry. From our campsite at Mons Icefield, we can travel north to the Lyell Icefield, east to Mt. Rosita and the West, North, and South Glaciers surrounding it, or south to Messines. There is nothing but alpine climbing and hiking across captivating terrain, keeping us busy all week long.

Some of our mountaineering objectives include Mons Peak, Mt. Forbes, and St. Julien and Cambrai Peaks. The isolation of the five Lyell Peaks translates into tremendous views, so you will definitely want to make your way through the Icefall Brook Canyon approach near these mountains.

From day one, you will be flown into the region and immersed in this remote area without any distractions. Dedicating the entire week to appreciate the evocative scenery, you can expect incredible camp meals to enhance your experience. Our guides will fill you in on the amazing rugged territory while you take in the once-in-a-lifetime views. Rehashing our experiences each night at camp will cement each day as one of the bets adventures you’ve ever had.

You should be in good physical shape to take on the serious climbing objectives of the trip. You should also possess the mental fortitude to enjoy seven full days of sustained mountaineering.

Book this Mons Icefield backcountry mountaineering camp NOW and spend a week exploring one of the most remote and beautiful places in British Columbia, Alberta, and all of Canada!
