Learn the essentials of mountaineering and alpine climbing in a one week training course! With Squamish and the Coast Mountains of British Columbia as your backdrop, you will receive guidance on every aspect of climbing from experienced alpinists!

Squamish is central to an array of fabulous mountains for climbers and mountaineers to experience the Canadian wilderness. Located in the southwest of British Columbia, the terrain is remarkable for excellent routes from basic alpinism to technical climbing. The region is both accessible and remote, offering the best of both worlds.

This program is designed for beginners who want to progress their skills in mountaineering and climbing. In a week you will receive valuable information and practical application of alpine techniques, all under the direction of local guides. By the end of the trip, you will have summited two or three peaks!

The trip begins with a day of rock climbing in Squamish. This will lead to six days of instruction that will include techniques in rock, snow, and ice climbing, anchor construction, safety issues, navigation, and so much more. The program places you directly in the mountains where you will camp for the duration of the week.

Squamish is a wonderful location to learn and familiarize yourself with the world of mountaineering. Because you will be practicing what you are instructed on, you will be ready for the next step of your climbing career when you complete the course.

While it is a complete course that will cover all aspects of mountaineering and alpine climbing, there is no experience required to join this program and is a great way for beginners to get started.

Our expert guides will make sure you have an absolutely blast while gaining the practical experience necessary to form your passion into a reality. We are extremely excited to share our knowledge and passion for the mountains with dedicated soon-to-be alpinists.

Book this week-long training course NOW and become a trained mountaineer with the skills to conquer alpine climbs across the globe!

You can also take a private climbing trip in the Tantalus Mountains and explore a hidden gem of the Coast Mountains! Or we can try a one-day top roping course here in Squamish!
