Join Jean Marc, an IFMGA certified guide, on this ski touring adventure near Cerro Catedral and Cerro Bayo, in Bariloche. Discover some of the most beautiful places of the Argentinian Patagonia.
San Carlos Bariloche is one most beautiful towns, typical of the Argentinian Patagonia. Bariloche is located in the center of Patagonia. It overlooks the stunning lake Nahuel Huapi. And it is guarded the Andes, a the magnificent and worldly famous mountain range.
We’ll spend the first part of our adventure off-piste skiing and ski touring at some of the best ski resorts in town. All are located near the iconic Cerro Catedral and Cerro Bayo.
After that, we’ll ski tour through the beautiful surroundings of both peaks. So we’ll stay a few days in the comfortable and gorgeous lodge of the Baguales Mountain Reserve.
The Reserve is only a 2 hour drive from Bariloche and offers an easy access to the mesmerizing Villegas and Foyel River. Hence, it is one of my favorite spots. It combines enchanting forests brimming with beech trees and stunning canyons and valleys. We’ll also find majestic peaks with its breathtaking summits. Here, we’ll keep our eyes open in case we spot an Andean Condor flying above us. But we can also see many other curious creatures that call this place home.
The pristine wilderness and untouched sceneries all around this place, make it the absolutely perfect location for a trip like this. The relaxing sound of the water and nature surrounding us, will transport us to a magical land of peace and beauty.
Finally, I propose we spend a weekend in Buenos Aires to end this wonderful journey. This south american city is full of charming neighbourhoods and mesmerizing buildings.
If you want to join this trip send me a request. I promise you won’t forget it. But, if you want an adventure in a completely different part of the world, check out this 17-day guided ascent of Kilimanjaro, that I guide too.
Accommodation 4 star hotels in Buenos Aires and Bariloche, and lodge La Mesada in double rooms with bathroom. |
More info If the snow and weather conditions are very good, and if the group wishes to do more off-piste skiing, it is possible as an extra to do some snowcats drops.

Thanks to Jean-Marc (together with his colleague Goulven) we spent a wonderful time climbing up the Gran Paradisio! Their great technical expertise and long-standing experience enable us to feel safe as well as excited about this trek! In addition, I enjoyed very much our inspiring discussions with these guides. They shared their rich professional and human experience with a great deal of enthusiasm! I recommend to spend the night at the Chabod refuge on the first day and drop by Vittorio Emmanuel II while climbing-down towards the starting point.

Hello to all who like the intensity of amazing heights reached with sometimes a bit of sweat but so rewarding that the memories live in you year in or out. I travelled many times with Jean-Marc as guide. Heliskiing in Canada, Touring skiing (seals\' skin skiing) in Tromso, Spitzberg or more simply in ski resorts like France, Italy and Bulgaria. I recommend him for the complete trust in what he is sure I can do and his guiding ability on top of our sharing a good bear after the day\'s efforts (I am Belgian so ...). I even tried myself at 53 years\' old to a bit of climbing with \"Aiguille d\'Entrève\" and discovered a new ability. Great moments past and to come.
