Description

Climbing Mont Blanc is on every mountaineer’s bucket list and this is your chance to reach the summit! Join me on this two-day trip where we’ll take the Goûter Route to the top.

We’ll meet in Les Houches in the Haute-Savoie region of France. Most of our first day will be devoted to hiking towards the Rifugio Gouter shelter. This is a physically demanding section that will take us around seven hours.

On the second day, we’ll have to get up early and traverse ice and snow. It’ll take us around four to five hours to reach the summit. Then, when we’re there we’ll have a bit of time to take in the awesome expansive views of the Alps and consider our achievement!

We’ll then begin our descent, going down the same way we came up. It should take us around six hours to get back to our start point.

This is a hard climb. There are long stretches of steep inclines, exposed sections where there is a risk of falling debris and some pretty tricky ice requiring the use of crampons. You must have experience mountaineering if you want to climb Mont Blanc via the Goûter Route.

This is a really beautiful experience and not one to be missed. Request to book today and secure your spot.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day One

We’ll meet in Les Houches, check over our gear and travel to Nid d’Aigles. From there we’ll hike for 1500 meters to Rifugio Gouter. This is a pretty demanding hike where we’ll encounter exposed rocky ridges. It’ll take us around 7 hours to get to the shelter.

Day 2: Day Two

Our start time on day two will be at around 4 am. We’ll follow glacial slopes at first, they will then turn into snowy ridges which we’ll follow to the summit. To descend we’ll follow the same route and we’ll spend around eight hours in total in both the ascent and descent.
