Description

Do you want to go on an adventure in a huge Norwegian Glacier, then this 3-day Hardangerjøkulen glacier hiking traverse is just what you’re looking for.

Hardangerjøkulen is an amazing glacier located in Hordaland county, south Norway.  It’s the sixth largest glacier on its mainland and it can be reached hiking around 5 kilometers south of Finse (1222 m), a small and cozy Scandinavian village.

My plan is to cross the glacier starting an Finse and sleep at the Demmevasshytta, a rustic mountain hut, located right at the foot of the glacier, from where you can admire the blue ice contrasting with millions of stars in the skies!

So you’ll take the train from Oslo to Finse railway station and stay ay a hotel there the first day. Then we’ll hike across the glacier with crampons and using ropes and Ice axe, for around 7 hours. We’ll spend the night at the mountain hut and head back the next day.

So if you think you’re ready for this wild adventure, send me a request now for this 3-day Hardangerjøkulen glacier hiking traverse and let’s start planning your next adventure.

And if you want to try skiing on a glacier, you might also be interested in one of my other trips in Norway: 4-day Jostedalsbreen glacier ski traverse.
