This classic ski tour ‘The Spearhead Traverse’ follows Fitzsimmons range behind the Whistler Blackcomb area, covering about 35km and 13 glaciers on route.
This rugged and spectacular trip takes place within the Garibaldi Provincial Park. Whilst making our way through endless powder snow, we will remain consistently elevated above 2000m.
Traditionally we start at the lifts on Blackcomb Mountain and finish by cruising down the ski runs on Whistler Mountain.
We will enjoy really spectacular views over valleys and glaciers throughout the trip, even as far as Washington’s Mount Baker.
Considered a right of passage for those in Whistler looking to do their first multi-day traverse, this is the ideal trip to perfect skills in glacier conditions.
You can practice finding and navigation, terrain management and avalanche awareness and prevention.
This is remote and wild terrain and we require that participants have at least an intermediate ski or boarding level.
