Join me for an exciting ski touring traverse in the surroundings of Mount Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia.
This is a 4-day adventure off the beaten tracks. It's also a great opportunity to explore Mount Triglav National Park almost entirely. In fact, this is the only protected area in the country.
The itinerary goes across the Julian Alps, from Bohinj to Mojstrana.
Although it's recommended to have some previous ski touring experience, you don't need to be a great skier.
As a local mountain guide, I will be in charge of your safety. Besides, I will be happy to share with you many stories and information about this beautiful region.

Depending on your time and wishes, you can also choose a 3-day or 5-day ski touring trip. However, according to my experience, this is the ideal length.

Day 1: From Vogel cable car to Dom a Kamni mountain hut (1100+ 600-)
Day 2: From Dom a Kamni to the winter mountain hut of Prehodavci (800+ 300-)
Day 3: From Prehodavci to Triglavski Dom (1300+ 800-)
Day 4: From Triglavski Dom to Mojstrana (200+ 1700-)

Equipment rental (skies, skins, boots) is around 90€ per set for 4 days. Cable car is around 10€, food and accommodation is 100€ for 3 days and nights.

Mountain Guide
I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide, ski instructor, and sports teacher.
I believe guides do their best job when they guide in the mountains they are most familiar with. That is one of the biggest reasons why I specialize in guiding in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country around 400 times.
If you want to climb or ski in the Slovenian mountains, I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, freeride skiing, and ski touring. Most of my summer work involves climbing Triglav, and most of my winter work involves Triglav and ski touring around it.

After an excellent experience with Mitja who led us to Triglav in summer 2016 we have decided to try also ski touring with him in February 2017. It was our first experience with ski touring at all. Mitja was able to manage all equipment and logistics for us so that we could focus on enjoying the two trips in two consecutive days. Although the weather was uncertain Mitja managed to select the locations (one around Kranjska Gora and second close to Pokljuka) where we enjoyed the tours a lot. It was simply amazing. Did not end up doing the traverse but opted for day tours. Mitja was very flexible as well as knowledgeable and really knew the area so we had the best of the conditions to suit our needs. Highly recommended and would use Mitja without hesitation for future trips to the mountains of Slovenia. We had a great time.
