If you are looking for your next adventure, this 4-day Triglav program is the perfect challenge! On this program, I will guide you on a combination of ski touring and climbing on the amazing Triglav, in the Julian Alps. Join me this season for a beautiful experience on the “Magistrala”, a true endurance test in the Slovenian mountains.

I have designed this program as a 3-day ski touring traverse, followed by a Triglav climbing day. This is a great way to make the best of your visit to Slovenia and the Julian Alps, and get the full experience.

More specifically, the ski touring traverse covers the area between Vogel and Komna and is the only multi-day ski tour in Slovenia. Some of the amazing highlights it includes are:

    • the Seven Lakes Valley
    • Hribarice
    • Velo Polje
    • Kredarica
    • the former Triglav glacier
    • the Krma Valley

From Day 1 to Day 3, the average ski touring time per day will be between 5 and 9 hours. The third day of our program will finish at the Triglavski dom Kredarica, leaving us at the perfect point for our Triglav ascent the next day.

On Day 4, I will guide you on the Triglav ascent (2,864 m / 9,395 ft). This part of the program will take between 6 and 8 hours.

Have a look at the detailed complete itinerary below!

This program is available from February to May, for a maximum of 6 guests. Each guest will need to bring their own equipment, including ski touring boots, ski skins, poles, avalanche probe shovel and beacon, warm winter clothes, and backpack. You can rent crampons and axes.

If you need to rent ski tour skis, you can use a 15% discount if you take this ski touring program.

Ready for this 4-day Triglav ski touring traverse with Triglav climb? Request your booking! If you are only interested in ski touring, check out the 3-day Triglav Ski Touring Traverse. If you want to focus solely on the ascent, have a look at the 2-day Triglav guided winter ascent.

    About the Guide

I am an aspirant iFMGA mountain guide born in 1980 in Mojstrana, a Slovenian village close to Mount Triglav, the highest mountain in the country at 2864 m.

From an early age, my parents took me to the mountains during summer and winter. At that time, my father was part of a mountain rescue team in my hometown and was also going on expeditions to the Himalaya and the Andes, so he became a big inspiration for me. We went climbing, hiking, sport climbing and ski touring together. His enthusiasm truly influenced me.

I went to Alpine school, then Mountain rescue team, I did the Alpinist exam and I became an Alpinist instructor. After that, I also studied to be a professor of Sport. Several years later, I decided to begin my mountain guide education and to become an IFMGA/UIAGM certified mountain guide.

Loved Slovenia and would highly recommend for those who enjoy the outdoors and walking. The via ferrata route was great for a morning hike. Stunning views and not too hard which was good given the heat that day. Our guide Borut (replaced by Gregor at the last minute as I had misjudged our dates so very much appreciated it) was lovely and made our trip even better.
