Join Edward, an IFMGA certified guide, on this 6-day piste to off-piste powder course and push your ski limits while enjoying the Chamonix/Verbier area.
This 6-day piste to off-piste powder course will not only take you skiing to the famous and beautiful Chamonix/Verbier area, but it will also let you know very important tips about skiing off piste.
The program will take place in the ski resorts of Vallorcine in France and Les Marecottes in Switzerland. Because both resorts are close to each other and have amazing deep snow options for us to enjoy.
Plus, you’ll be staying in my own Bekket Mountain Chalet, which is very close to the slopes and have amazing wellness facilities for you to recover every night.
So all the conditions will be set for you to have an extraordinary time!
And during this course we’ll practice some sharp turns over steep runs, to start warming up. Then you’ll become acquainted with avalanche safety equipment and how to use it, because safety is the most important feature when skiing off piste.
And at the same time I’ll take you to different off piste terrains and show you the techniques to ski in each of them. Grand alpine slopes, deal with rocks and cliffs and chose your run through deep forest, will be some of the features you’ll learn.
So don’t hesitate, send me a request now and we’ll start planning your next big adventure. This 6-day piste to off-piste powder course in the Chamonix/Verbier area will make all you freeride dreams come true!

In 1987 I became a certified mountain guide after an intense four-year training program at the Technical University of Munich, thus becoming the first guide from the Netherlands to be IFMGA-certified and probably worldwide one of the first guides not originating from an alpine country. As a guide, I do everything from beginner courses in the Alps to worldwide climbing expeditions to the Seven Summits.
Based in Switzerland, just a few kilometers from the French town of Chamonix, I offer customized programs, tailor-made for each of my clients. As an alpinist and mountain guide, I’ve participated in many succesful expeditions, including Mt. Everest (north and south sides), Cho Oyu and Shisha Pangma (Tibet), Aconcagua (Argentina), Yerupaja South Face and Huascaran (Peru), Ojos del Salado (Chile), Mt Hunter and Denali (Alaska), Elbrus (Russia) Carstensz Pyramid (West Papoua) and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania). I’ve led two UIAA expeditions for talented young climbers: one in China and one in Pakistan. Both were very successful and led to the opening of some new (and sometimes difficult) routes. I’m always looking for new and challenging ski areas and, in recent years, have specialized in ski safaris and ski touring in the Alps, Morocco, Canada, Chile and Scandinavia. Adventure skiing is my passion since a long time and the challenge is to find the best snow and safe skiing and have fun with the group in a remote location. A father of 2, in my spare time, I like to go skiing, mountain biking and climbing with friends and family.

My first proper ski touring trip and I didn’t really know what to expect...it was amazing In every respect. The scenery was stunning and accommodation perfect at MIT FabLab. Haakon looked after us at FabLab and Edward out on the mountain. I felt safe and exhilarated at the same time. The group were diverse with a sense of fun and a common interest in being out on the mountains. It really was a privilege for me to share the week with them. I look forward to another trip next winter. Bob

Fantastic trip with a great group! Edward made the most of the spring conditions. We were blessed with sunny days - touring in shorts and t-shirts. Beautiful views, skiing over fjords, after great ascents! Long descents, all in all an amazing week!!
