Description

The Japanese nicknamed Hokkaido, the country's northernmost island, "The last frontier". The most remote of the Japanese islands, Hokkaido offers some of the best snow conditions in the world, with less than 5% of moisture content.

Hokkaido is a place where the most beautiful landscapes mix. I will guide you on an itinerary that explores this uncrowded region, making it to the top of many summits. We will spend a whole day at Niseko, the country´s #1 ski resort, using both its lifts and ski skins to climb and enjoy over 2,000 meters of descents.

We will explore Mt. Yotei, Hokkaido´s "Mount Fuji", where we will climb and then enjoy a 2000-meter descent. In the evening, we will rest in a beautiful Onsen (Japanese hot springs) and spend the night there.

Other highlights of the tour include Furano, with a 1,000 to 1,500 meters ascent to the summit overlooking the bay, and Asahidake, with 2,000 meters of descent in world-class snow.

Finally, we will peak the Sandan Yama and enjoy the amazing views from the top: the crest of the ridge, the entire mountain range and a valley of rice fields off to the east.

A Japanese guide and me (or a member of my team) will conduct a group of between 4 and 7 members.

The priority during this trip will be to enjoy Hokkaido's world-famous powder snow. A good physical condition is necessary to be able to enjoy the trip.  We will climb up to 1,200 meters per day, sometimes more. But rest assured, it is possible to skip one ski day if you need to.

So, if skiing Japan's mythical powder has been at the top of your bucket list for a while, do not hesitate to contact me!

And if you have a few more days to spend in Japan, you can check out this exciting trip in Hakuba or this unforgettable ski tour in Mount Fuji.
