##### Levada do Risco/ Levada das 25 Fontes startin from Rabaçal:

After a transfer to Rabaçal, you will set off on an unforgettable trek through the 19th century Levada do Risco and Levada das 25 Fontes (25 fountains), enjoying along the way, gorgeous flowers, and birds, as well as stunning wilderness views including waterfalls and lagoons.

DURATION: 4-hour walk

##### Levada do Alecrim/ Lagoa do Vento/Levada das 25 Fontes from Rabaçal:

On this extended levada program, you will be able to visit several levadas starting from Rabaçal.

First will be Levada do Alecrim, where you can appreciate the Tree Heather and Madeira Blueberry, as well as several species of birds and cows. From there, we will continue to Lagoa do Vento, a unique spot with charming and exuberant waterfalls. After, we will head down to the Rabaçal’ house to the trailhead of Levada do Risco, which boasts a gorgeous waterfall. Finally, we will continue to the Levada walk of 25 Fontes (25 Fountains) where we will have time to relax in nature.

Short Levada Hikes in Madeira from Rabaçal

There are a number of great hiking options on the **Portuguese island of Madeira**. And on this trip, which lasts **approximately 2 hours**, we would like to guide from the **Eira do Serrado to the Curral das Freiras**, otherwise known as the **Valley of the Nuns**.

This trek will cover approximately **2 kilometers**. It will begin to the right of the **Eira do Serrado hotel**. From there, we will follow a downhill path to the **Curral das Freiras**. The path we will be taking zigags through rows of chestnut trees before opening up and exposing you to some spectacular views of **Madeira**. When you reach the village of **Curral das Freiras**, you will get to enjoy some wonderful food and drinks, as well as talk to the lovely people that call the area home.

The path we will be taking is called the **Nuns path**. It got its name because many years ago nuns used it to escape from visiting pirates to the island.

Due to the shortness of this trip, it is not very challenging. As a result, **no experience is necessary**. However, you should be in **good enough physical condition** to maintain a steady pace.
