  • Scale the summit of the giant Aconcagua (6962m)!

  • See amazing views back over the Andes and Argentina

  • Climb the highest mountain in the Southern Hemisphere

I will guide you on this challenging, rewarding, satisfying and stunning 18-day expedition to the summit of the mighty and majestic Aconcagua (6962m), a monumental journey that will entail several days of acclimatization, pack mules to carry our gear, fascinating and mesmerizing scenery and absolutely spectacular views out over the Andes and the Argentinian countryside.

Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Southern Hemisphere, and is located in the West of Argentina, 112km Northwest of the city of Mendoza. There are several glaciers that dot the terrain of the mountain, and its high altitude and demanding nature ensure it is a true achievement to reach the summit.

We meet on the first day in the city of Mendoza, where we spend the first couple of days in order to gather our permits and dispense of all relevant information regarding the trip.

It is then off to Penitentes (2600m) and then onwards to Confluencia (3300m), where we will spend 3 days acclimatizing to the higher altitude. Day 6 is when we head for base camp at Plaza de Mulas (4300m), where we all undertake a medical examination that influences our acclimatization and climbing plan.

From days 8-15 is when the demanding and epic climb to the summit of Aconcagua occurs, with the conditions, weather and altitude testing us both physically and mentally.

Each day entails approximately 6-8 hours of hiking, with the summit day taking 8 hours and then 3-4 hours back, and there will be ample time to take in and admire your surroundings and the sweeping panoramic views you will be exposed to.

We finally go from base camp back to Penitentes on day 16, where a well-earned gala dinner will be held, and the subsequent and final 2 days are back in Mendoza, where we finish on day 18.

At the end of this trip you will be emotionally and physically shattered, but also immensely satisfied and happy at the rare and amazing journey you have completed.

This is one of the most testing and rewarding climbs one can do – book now to experience the thrill!
