The Italian region of Piedmont and more precisely, the locality of Alagna Valsesia, offer a great variety of Via Ferrata routes. One of them is the Via Ferrata “Emilio de Tomasi”. It is an amazing route that follows a panoramic ridge all equipped with cable, steps and Tibetan bridge.
The Alagna Via Ferrata tour also offers 3 different variations with 3 different difficulties and you can choose your favorite one. Although they have some differences from one another, all Via Ferrata routes in Alagna have something in common: a magnificent view on the south side of the Monte Rosa.
The program of this fantastic 1-day Via Ferrata tour in Alagna is the following:
We will meet in our office in Staffal. After the check and the assignment of the safety equipment, we will take the lift up to Passo Salati and down to Pianalunga. From there, we will approach to the base of Via Ferrata in 1 hour of easy walking.
The beginning is quite easy and give you the chance to warm up for the second half. Here you can decide what route to take. One trail will test your bravery on the Tibetan bridge and your arms on the steep pillar. The other option will make you avoid it, taking an easier right variation.
The upper part is much easier. From the top of the via ferrata we will walk for one hour to Passo Salati. Thanks to the lift system we come back to Staffal. The total vertical drop is 500 meters and the duration of the activity is 3:30 hours.
If you are interested in booking your place for the next departure day, here you have the prices. Mountain guiding and rental equipment are included. The price does not include nor lift ticket nor lunch/drinks.
