Join IFMGA certified mountain guide Francis for a mountaineering expedition in the different ranges of the Alps, from the Mont Blanc range to the Dolomites.
During the late spring, summer and early autumn, the Alps are bustling with people. It is during that time when I offer a variety of trips in different areas of this enormous and legendary mountain range.
Aside from the sheer beauty and size of the Alps, what makes them so amazing is how many borders they create and cross. They touch several countries. And each country’s share of the Alps has their own highlights. On this trip, I offer options where you can explore all of them. Some of which include the Mont Blanc Massif in France, Zermatt in Switzerland, the Dolomites in Italy and the Karwendel range in Germany and Austria. Other areas you can choose from include the Bergell range and the Ecrins range, along with many more.
All of those amazing areas are within close proximity of each other, so you don’t have to focus on just one. Instead, you can experience them all. One by one, bit by bit, over however much time you want. And that is why I think the structure of this trip works so well. Furthermore, because the locations are so flexible, the itineraries and skill level are flexible as well, so regardless of your climbing abilities, there is a trip for you.
So if you are looking for the freedom to explore the Alps from May to October, but aren’t sure where to start, or what range you want to climb, send me a message, and we can discuss it. I promise you that whatever you end up choosing will result in an amazing trip that you will never forget.
Please note that this is a private program. Unfortunately, for the time being, I don’t have any group departures planned.
And if you are looking for something with more structure, I also offer a 7 day ski tour through the world famous Haute Route that will take you from Chamonix to Zermatt.
- There are several hotels located in the various meeting points, from Chamonix to Zermatt. - It will be a trip of minimum 4 days. If we decide to leave for more than 4 days, the price will vary according to the number of additional days we spend together.
The meeting point will depend on which range you choose to climb. For example Chamonix would be the meeting point for trips in the Mont Blanc Range.
IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide
I am a professional mountain & ski guide. I have been guiding now since 1994. I have always been into the mountains – skiing at age 4 and secretly sneaking away for overnight bivouacs in the mountains behind my parents house. At age 13, I decided to pursue my airy scrambles for something that looked a bit more fun. I went to work as an assistant bringing out other young teenagers on exciting hiking and more importantly to me, climbing outings. One thing led to another and before I knew it my world revolved around the mountains.
At the age of 18 I moved to France to pursue my passions, later becoming actively involved with the French Alpine Club in Dijon and organizing outings and putting up climbing routes here and there in Burgundy.
In 1992, I entered the infamous ENSA or French guides school in Chamonix and became the first American to receive international certification (UIAGM/IFMGA) through this prestigious school.
Since then I have been making my living as a full time professional guide, climbing and skiing in many of the worlds great mountain ranges. I speak fluent French, some Italian and I am now learning German.
Previously I have worked as a technical consultant for Petzl, and Grivel.
