Description

Join me on this 1-day mountaineering expedition in the Arête des Cosmiques. And discover one of the most stunning climbing routes in the Mont Blanc Massif (4,808m).

Arête des Cosmiques, or Cosmiques Ridge, is a very popular mountaineering route in the Mont Blanc. And there are many reasons for its popularity! It stands between the border of Italy and France, and it is the perfect ascent for climbers that wish to gain confidence and tackle bigger ascents. Also, it offers the perfect mixed terrain, so that even expert mountaineers can challenge themselves here.

Due to its unique varied terrain, it’s also the ideal introduction to mixed climbing, as we’ll cross different patches of snow and rock. Also, this route is rated as AD – Assez Difficile or Fairly Hard. But sometimes it even reaches a PD or PD+ rate. Hence, it requires some climbing experience, especially abseiling skills. Therefore, I will be there for you making sure you are safe and giving you pointers so you can improve your techniques.

Then as we ascend, we’ll start getting better and more breathtaking views of all the surrounding peaks, such as the Aiguille du Midi. The dazzling sceneries we’ll enjoy all through our our journey, make this one of my favorite places to climb!

We’ll climb most of the ridge together. But there is a crux section that will require a belay. So be prepared for this challenge

If you are up for this challenge, don’t hesitate and send me a request. It will be an unforgettable expedition!

After few years at the ski club, I started the world competitions with the French ice climbing team for 6 years. Antonin was a great guide who packed in so much in one day for us. There was no fuss with the arrangements and getting started. He gave us some great tips too which massively improved our skiing. Weather conditions weren’t great but he made it work well for us with his timings and locations.

We went for a 1-day backcountry tour with Antonin in Les Arcs. The snow conditions were very difficult - only two big snowfalls were in the area during the winter and the previous snowfall was 2 weeks before, so all routes in the resort area were very tracked. But Antonin did his best to find good snow for us, adopted the routes to our group skiing level and was not hurrying us at all. As a result we had a great adventure with a couple of long pleasant rides!
