The wild mountains of British Columbia offer breathtaking views and quality runs. And being close to the Kicking Horse Resort, the backcountry provides simple access.
We’ll explore the mountains around the town of Golden, located in the southeast of British Columbia that rests at the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse rivers.
Its history was largely influenced by the railway and logging industry, which is still part of its economy today.
Steep alpine chutes, large chunks of tree runs ideally spaced, and gentle open terrain sliding down the slopes. British Columbia is home to some of the best backcountry terrain.
We’ll initially hitch the lifts to gain access to the wild terrain, which will save our energy for the hidden stashes of powder scattered across the slopes.
Once we reach the wild slopes, we’ll skin up to move more efficiently through the backcountry bowls that provide excellent runs.
This 1-day skiing trip around British Columbia is ideal for skiers who are intermediate and advanced.
