We operate in the Tobacco Root Range, a section of the Rocky Mountains, which lies in the southwest of Montana, between the Jefferson and Madison Rivers. This 14,000 acres terrain is located mostly above 9000 feet, so it is pack with snow every year. Plus, there are hundreds of backcountry options to explore with different snow and weather conditions.
We think that springtime is the perfect time for this ski mountaineering course. During four days one of our guides will show you how to climb in steep snow conditions, using ice axe and crampon techniques and also belaying and rappelling.
Then you’ll put this new knowledge in practice going out to one of the many summits that surrounds us, to enjoy the magnificent scenery and deep powder of the area. We can con to different places regarding you level and wishes, from wide-open bowls to steep rock cliffs.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
