Join IFMGA-certified guide David for an exciting ice climbing day in the beautiful Canadian Rockies! Open to beginners and advanced climber, this tour can be customized to your goals and time availability.
Join me for a fun and exciting ice climbing program in the wonderful Canadian Rockies! Open to every skill level, for this program you can choose between a variety of progam durations and locations. Join me this season for a climbing tour to remember.
For this program, we can work out together an itinerary that works for you. I can customize a 2-day to 4-day tour, starting late November through February.
This program is available for different for Beginners to Advanced.
In the evening before our climbing day (or days), I will meet you for a final equipment check. We will also go over last minute changes subject to weather and avalanche conditions, plus logistics. Finally, we will sign a liability waiver. Next day, we will typically 7:30am at the climbing site. The activity generally ends by 5:00pm.
As for the routes, these will be determined by your experience and goals. Possible locations within the Canadian Rockies include the area around these towns:

In terms of ice climbing locations, possibilities these include: Haffner creek, Grotto Canyon, King creek, Carlsberg & Guinness gully, Polar Circus, Weeping wall, Shades of Beauty and many more.
As for the usual weather conditions in the Rocky Mountain, you can expect cold and dry days. In winter, temperatures vary between -25°C and -10°C during the day, and closer to zero in the spring.

Meeting point 7.30 am close to the climbing location. Transfer to the climbing location can be done by car pool, depending on the number of climbers, to minimize costs. |
I am an IFMGA and ACMG-certified mountain guide based in Nelson, British Columbia. I'm the lead guide at Summit Mountain Guides, a guiding agency I co-founded back in 2007 and which offers year-round guiding services and courses in Canada and Europe.
