Cerro Eléctrico ski touring day in El Chalten, Patagonia Sur

The Cerro Electrico is an absolutely stunning sight. Positioned between the Piedras Blancas Glacier and the electric river valley, the red colored mountain will take your breath away. However, during this full-day trip, you will not just get to admire the peak, you will get to ascend and descend the mountain on a ski touring expedition you will never forget.

The journey to the summit of the Cerro Electrico is a worthwhile trip on its own. However, when you accompany that unbelievable climb with a thrilling descend, you know you’re in for something special.

The trip will begin early in the morning. We will drive for approximately an hour from El Chalten to the parking lot at the bridge on the electric river. From there, we will trek to an altitude of 1,000 meters. At this point, we will continue up, skiing on a glacier for approximately 4 hours until we reach the summit. From the summit, you will get to enjoy amazing views of the Fitz Roy Hill and other amazing highlights of Argentinean Patagonia. Afterwards, we will descend on a 1,500 meter slope!

This is a challenging adventure. As a result, participants should be in good physical condition. You should also have prior ski touring experience in mountainous terrain.
