Highlights

  • Climb the beautiful Mount Athabasca.

  • Enjoy a unique mountaineering experience in the Canadian Rockies.

  • Stand in awe of remote and breathtaking landscapes.

Mount Athabasca is located in the Columbia Icefield of Jasper National Park (Canada). In particular, its North Face is one of the most accessible and aesthetic steep north face routes in the Canadian Rockies.

It offers glacier travel into a glacial cirque where the North Face Direct is. With snow and ice to 60+ deg and a pitch of easy but exposed mixed climbing (5.4) near the top, it is a classic that is not to be missed by any alpinist.

A guided ascent of the North Face requires an early start at 3 AM, and then, about a 12 hr return. I like guiding my friends and clients there. It is a great mountaineering experience that will reward you with breathtaking views.

Please get in touch with me if you want to know more about it. It will be my pleasure to give you more details. Then we will organize this tour according to your expectations!

I also offer other great trips in Canada for the summer months. Check for example this climbing course around Banff or this summer solstice Alpine trip in Alberta. The options in Canada are endless if you love mountains!

It is highly recommended to purchase medical insurance (if applicable) and traveler’s trip interruption insurance to cover travel costs and trip costs in the event you have to cancel your trip due to personal illness or injury, family emergency or other personal conflicts. If climbing within Canadian National Parks, the purchase of a park pass is required and this also acts as mountain rescue insurance if needed.

My guide was Christian from the same company (vs Jeff). I was thrilled with the service, friendliness, knowledge, and professionalism. We went to Sunshine Slab near Banff to sport climb for a half day. We managed to get a lot of memorable climbs in a short amount of time. I would gladly use these guys again.

Jeff was so kind to the kids, he encouraged and motivated our 12 y/o eldest, and was tolerant and patient with our 9 y/o young one. Extremely recommended for families. We had much fun on the Banff cliffs.
