  • Day 2Pico do Areeiro, Pico Ruivo and Ilha

On our first day, we’ll climb the highest peak in Madeira, Pico do Areeiro (1818mt). From there you’ll enjoy awesome views of the whole island.  We’ll then descend to Ilha parish via the native Laurissilva forests.

  • Day 3Encumeada, Paul da Serra and Estanquinhos

We’ll walk for 6 hours on this day. Leaving from Encumeada we’ll head to Paul da Serra where we’ll start walking while enjoying beautiful landscapes.

When we get to Lombo do Mouro, we’ll then cross the Levada do Norte and Levada da Serra. We’ll follow the levada and pass by tunnels and waterfalls. We’ll keep walking to the Pinnacle area. On a clear day, you get amazing views of the Ribeira Brava Valley, Pico do Areeiro and Pico Ruivo from here.

  • Day 4Boca da Corrida, Pico Grande and Curral das Freiras

On day four we’ll transfer to Boca da Corrida for a long walk to Pico Grande. If you are up to it, you can climb to 1654 meters and enjoy amazing views of the Curral das Freiras valley. To descend we’ll follow a gorge path on a zigzagging trail.

  • Day 5Galhano, Ribeira da Janela and Porto Moniz

Our start point for a day of exploring beautiful Laurel forests will be Fonte do Bispo. The vegetation here is wild and beautiful and we’ll spend hours exploring the beautiful nature in this region. We’ll finish the walk in Port Moniz where you’ll be able to relax in wonderful natural pools.

  • Day 6Canyoning or diving

On day 6 you get to experience canyoning. Madeira is one of the best places in the world to do this activity because the climate is pretty mild all year round. Depending on your level or your wishes, we can find canyoning spots of varying difficulty.

Or if you’d prefer we can also organise a day of diving in the crystalline waters of Madeira where you can see anemones, black corals, moray eels, and even sea lions.

  • Day 7Queimadas Levada do Caldeirão and Fajã da Nogueira

We’ll dedicate this day to exploring the Levadas. We’ll start at Queimadas Park where lush green forests, mossy landscapes and waterfalls are waiting to be explored. We’ll visit one of the most famous levadas on the island. It was constructed in the 18th century and is made up of many different canyon valleys which move through the mountains and across cliffs. We’ll pass by tunnels that were originally excavated by hand, before reaching an impressive waterfall. To return we’ll follow the Caldeirão do Inferno, a very narrow river gorge, passing the Fajã da Nogueira power station along the way.

  • Day 8Ponta de São Lourenço, Larano and Machico

We’ll depart from the Bay of Abra and discover minerals, dikes and beautiful colours along our walk. This peninsula is a partial nature reserve and we’ll walk to the Islet Desembarcadouro, a full natural reserve. We’ll then climb to a viewpoint where we can enjoy spectacular views of the deserted islands and Porto Santo island.

From the Bay of Abra, we’ll transfer to our next stop, the Larano path. This is a narrow and dizzying path that overlooks the ocean. We’ll reach Boca do Risco and enjoy the north coast of the island of Madeira. We’ll have some time to relax before following a path that is popular for moving between the two locations.

  • Day 9Cabanas de São Jorge and Quinta do Furão

We’ll start this day at the Cabanas de São Jorge parish which will give us spectacular ocean views. We’ll explore traditional farmlands and walk towards São Jorge. We’ll then descend to Calhau de São Jorge beach where you can take a swim if you like.  We’ll finish up the day with a tour of Quinta do Furão where you’ll be able to taste a great Madeira wine in the typical Adega (Wine Cellar).

  • Day 10Horseback ride

On the 10th day we’ll ascend Santo de Serra on horseback. We’ll follow the secret paths of the
island of Madeira. In evening we’ll enjoy dinner with traditional Fado music.

  • Day 11Free day in Funchal

This day is free for you to explore on your own and do whatever you like.

  • Day 12 to 13Porto Santo

Porto Santo is known for spectacular warm turquoise waters and the long 9 km golden, fine sand. There are even great diving sites. These two days are a great opportunity to relax and enjoy some sun and see.

  • Day 14Departure

On day 14 you’ll head home.
