Description

Nestled in the  Sealy Range, the Mueller Hut hike is surrounded by glorious mountains and is the perfect activity for your trip to the South Island.

We’ll start our hike by checking into the Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park Visitor Centre. Then we’ll head to the Kea Point Track, we’ll follow this path until we get to the Sealy Tarns turnoff. There, we’ll take the track of the same name. Parts of this track are quite steep so it’ll be challenging. We’ll keep going until we come up to a mountain lake called Sealy Tarns. Here we’ll get awesome views of the valley.

After stopping for a few photos we’ll continue on through tussock until we get to a boulder field. We’ll cross it and walk up to the ridge that is home to Mueller Hut. We’ll relax here and take in the beautiful 360-degree panoramic views of mountains and glaciers before we head back.

This is not an easy hike, in just over 5 km you’ll ascend over one thousand metres. It’s well worth it though and it’s an experience you won’t forget.

Book today and you’ll soon be enjoying the spectacular beauty of the South Island of New Zealand.
