The famous 1800-meter Eiger North face is the highest wall of the Alps with a dark history behind.
Many years ago the North Face of Eiger was a very dangerous climbing goal due to the few safety precautions and the lack of quality climbing equipment. In fact, during the summer this wall is considered as”suicide” because of the landslides of rocks.
However, the Eiger North face is a perfect climbing option during autumn and springtime. The cold weather (snow and ice) enables the rock to stay stuck to the mountain. And although you will need some technical knowledge and fitness, this guided climb will help you to take the best from Eiger safely.
As your mountain guide, I will study carefully all the factors as well as your own technical level before deciding your climbing objectives. Therefore, before the big goal I’ll need to know you well. So, I propose we do at least 1 or 2 previous climbs together to ensure you are ready for the greatest challenge.
For such kind of climbing adventure, I only go with people with who I gave climbed before. That’s why if you are interested to be guided by me to reach the summit of Mt Eiger through its north face, we will do one or two technical ascents prior to that one. This will allow us to get to know each other and for me to assess your mountaineering experience. For the training, we can climb the north face of les Droites, the supper couloir of Le Mont-Blanc du Tacul, etc.
In addition to the excitement that climbing this wall generates, I always recommend this 2-day program because:
- It is the biggest face of the entire Alps;
- It is one of the most famous mountaineering routes in history. Many stories have been written about ascents on the North Face of Eiger. It’s great to be on the path of these;
- The climbing line is logical and very elegant within this impressive face;
- I have so much fun climbing it with my clients.
Please find an estimated program for this trip at the end of this description. It’s also possible to do all the ascent in one day. Moreover, take into account that the program might change based on the weather conditions. Safety remains my top priority !
If you want more details or if you’d like to book your place for the next departure, contact me now. I will be glad to lead this challenging experience in the biggest wall of the Alps with you.
