The trek to the Everest Base Camp is without doubt one of the most hiking tour in the world. It takes you into the heart of the Nepalese Himalaya, with awe-inspiring views of many of the world’s highest and most beautiful mountains.
Which climb the famous Everest viewing point of KalaPathar (5,600m) as well as going to the actual site of base camp, bellow the tumbling Khumbu Icefall. We fly in a Twin Otter aircraft to the mountain airstrip (Tenzing-Hillary Airport) at Lukla and begin the trek up the Khumbu Valley through the Sagarmatha National Park all the way through the colourful landscapes.
We will pass through many Sherpa villages, including the famous trading town of Namche Bazar, as well as visiting the monastery at Thyangboche.
The trekking is mainly on good trails, apart from the last day up to base camp, which is on moraine (rocky ground).
You can expect to trek for 4 to 5 hours each day, but some days will feel harder than others, depending on the altitude gain. We continue to follow the trail to a famous viewpoint, Kalapathar, where a marvelous 360-degree panorama awaits and Mt Everest Bass Camp. End of the trip we will do Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
