Join me on a spectacular 3-day ski touring trip: the Garibaldi Neve Traverse! During these days, we will travel through some of the best spots in British Columbia for ski touring lovers.
So, if you are a ski touring enthusiast, you must do this ski traverse at least once in your life! I guarantee I will guide you safely into the backcountry on this incredible ski tour.
British Columbia, the westernmost province of Canada, is located between the Pacific Ocean and the famous Rocky Mountains.
The Garibaldi Neve Ski Traverse will take us across a 35km impressive glacier, just north of Squamish. Endless glaciated mountains lie there, as far as the eye can see, high above the sea to Sky Highway, and from there heading up to Whistler.
We will begin our tour either from Whistler or Squamish. Then, we will go high up into the mountain and end at Garibaldi Lake after 3 amazing days on the impressive glacier of Garibaldi Provincial Park.
Also, along the way, we will have the chance to summit beautiful peaks such as Atwell, and Mount Garibaldi. Most important, we will enjoy many amazing alpine ski descents.
You can check the detailed itinerary below this text. This traverse is suitable either for beginners and advanced skiers. Also, you need to be in a moderate good shape, as we may travel uphill on skis from 600 to 2100 meters, depending on your fitness level. Anyway, I can accommodate the tour to your skills and fitness level.
Contact me and book your dates for an unforgettable ski touring trip! I will be happy to guide you on the Garibaldi Neve Traverse. I also offer a 4-day hut to hut Wapta ski traverse, in the Canadian Rockies.
Garibaldi Provincial Park-Elfin Lakes Hut
We will travel from either Squamish or Whistler up to the trailhead of Garibaldi Provincial Park, which overlooks the Howe Sound Inlet and the town of Squamish, BC. Then, an ascent through coastal old growth forest will lead us into the alpine and the Elfin Lakes hut, on the edge of the Neve, for the evening.
Alpine day-Mt. Garibaldi
An alpine day await us today! After an early start, we will head out across the Garibaldi Neve to the high point of the travel just below the impressive face of Mt Garibaldi. Our tent camp will be set up within striking distance of some fantastic glacier slopes for some afternoon turns.
Garibaldi Lake-Rubble Creek
From here, we will start to make our way back down to Garibaldi Lake, with a series of world-class glacier ski runs. Finally, we will cross the lake to the trail-head at Rubble Creek. Here, a car will be awaiting our return to take us back to our vehicles at the start of the traverse.
