Highlights

  • Reach the summit of one of the highest mountains in Spain.

  • Explore a beautiful natural area in the Sierra Nevada National Park.

  • Challenge yourself on an ascent ideal for climbing lovers.

Join me and let’s climb the highest mountain of the Iberian Peninsula: Mulhacen.

The 3.478.6-meter Mulhacen is also the second highest peak of all Spain after the Teide. Mulhacen belongs to Sierra Nevada National Park, in the province of Granada, in southern peninsular Spain.

The beauty of the natural surroundings and the views you can enjoy from the top of Mulhacen are really awesome. Moreover, you will discover the interesting life of its villagers, which makes this climb unique and unforgettable.

Besides these facts, Mulhacen is considered a major mountaineering challenge among climbing lovers. That’s why I am very excited to invite you to this 2-day ascent. We’ll spend the night at Poqueira Mountain Hut.

As a Spanish native mountain guide (and fluent English speaking) with AEGM-UIMLA certifications, I will ensure a great and secure climbing to the summit. I will be in charge of the logistic. If necessary, I’ll also give you all the technical gear to reach the top safely.

The minimum of participants per group is 4 people. If you want to be part of a smaller group it is also possible but prices will increase.

Please feel free to contact me and ask me all the questions you have. I will be waiting for your message in order to discuss your expectations and plan a suitable program for you.

In addition, you can take a look at this ascent that I lead to Pic de Neouvielle in the Pyrenees.

What People are Saying about Jon Sanz

  • 2 reviews

At our designated departure time it was raining and looking very unlikely that we would even get out of town, let alone get to climb. Jon took us through the weather for the area and said there as a good chance we’d summit the next day if we were willing to take the chance. We did and so got the chance to summit the next day. Jon took me up off the usual routes and showed me some lovely parts of the mountain. As we climbed many others were turning back but Jon found a safe path mostly out of the weather and we managed to summit a few hours later. Jon’s knowledge of the weather, Mt Mulhacen, the surrounding area and Spanish history added another level to the experience. He is a very capable mountaineer and a guide who knows his clients early and knows how to get the best out of them. I highly recommend Jon if you are looking for a guide to help you achieve your goals. Pete
