Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, Squaw Valley rose to prominence in the 20th century, garnering hosting privileges for the 1960 Winter Olympics. It has become one of the largest ski areas in the United States, with 3,600 acres of skiable terrain. This opens the door to an array of great backcountry destinations, from beginner lines to challenging runs just for the experts. The snowfall can exceed 12 or 13 meters, consisting of snow that drives powder hounds wild.

Granite Peak and the Palisades are some popular objectives that have exciting challenges and fulfilling runs, but the options are literally endless.

My experience in Squaw Valley and Truckee have made me passionate about sharing this location with others. My tangible and local knowledge of the mountains will ensure we have a fun, safe, and all-around great time ski touring here. Let me know what your personal goals and objectives are and we can tailor a trip around your needs and abilities.

You should be in good shape to take this program, with a backcountry proficiency suitable for three sustained days in challenging terrain.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!

Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
