Located to the north side of Cordillera Blanca, where you will enjoy impressive green turquoise glacier lakes, which lie at foot of huge snowcapped peaks, as Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Santa Cruz, Pucajirca, Artezonraju and Caraz. Most of the passes are between 4500 m and 4850 m with spectacular panorama views. You will have the option to see the major part of Cordillera Blanca. On the way to the descent you will enjoy dense Andean vegetation, picturesque mountain settlements and wild animals.

Below you can find the daily program.

DAY 1: Huaraz (3100 m) – Hualcayan village (3139 m) – Wishcash camp (4400 m).
(Trek time: 4 hours, ascent / driving up time: 3 hours)

Departure from Huaraz at 8:00 am. We drive to the north side along Callejon de Huaylas on a paved road until Caraz (2200 m). Then we deviate to the northeast on a dirt road until Hualcayan village (3139 m). From Hualcayan we will start walking up on many switchbacks, on steep hills, enjoying amazing views to the west of Cordillera Negra and Hualcayan village. Finally, after 5 hours walking up we get to our first camp site at Wishcash (4400 m). From this camping spot we will enjoy the gorgeous sunset. Overnight camp at Wishcash.

DAY 2: Wishcash (4400 m) – Osoruri pass (4860 m) – Osoruri camp (4600 m)
(Trek time: 5 – 6 hours, ascent & descent).

After breakfast we start walking up toward pristine Cullicocha Lake. Upon getting to Cullicocha we will enjoy the azure glacier lake with the impressive Santa Cruz mount in the background. Then we continue walking up and get to highest point of the trek, Osoruri pass (4860 m). After that we descent to the camp site. Overnight camp at Osoruri.

DAY 3: Osoruri camp (4600 m) – Vientunan pass (4770 m) – Jancarurish camp (4250 m)
(Trek time: 5 hours, ascent & descent)

This beautiful day we will start walking up toward Vientunan pass (4770 m). Then we will descend on switchbacks trail, enjoying on the way the amazing pre Inca archaeological site of Auquispuquio on the north hill. Most of that part was an agricultural area. As soon as we reach Jancarurish valley we will see the spectacular pyramidal shape of Alpamayo mount, which is also seen from the camp site. Overnight camp at Jancarurish.

DAY 4: Jancarurish camp (4250 m) – Cara Cara pass (4830 m) – Huillca camp (4000 m)
(Trek time: 6 hours, ascent & descent)

After our breakfast we will start walking up toward Cara Cara pass (4830 m), where we will be on continental divide. We cross the Cordillera Blanca from west to east. Then we descend on Conchucos valley until reaching the second pass of Mesa Pata (4460 m), where we will have lunch enjoying the mountain views. From there we can see the Pucajirca group (6050 m), mount Tayapampa (5657 m), and the northwest face of Alpamayo mount. Then we will continue walking until our camp site at Huillca. Overnight camp at Huillca.

DAY 5: Huillca camp (4000 m) – Yanacon pass (4610 m) – Jancapampa camp (3600 m)
(Trek time: 6 hours, ascent & descent)

After breakfast we will start walking up toward Yanacon pass (4610 m), where we will see mount Pucajirca (6050 m) and Sactaycocha Lake. We will have lunch there. Afterwards we continue walking down until our camp site at Jancapampa. Overnight camp at Jancapampa.

DAY 6: Jancapampa camp (3600 m) – Tupa Tupa pass (4360 m) – Huecrococha camp (3900 m)
(Trek time: 6 hours, ascent & descent)

Today we will see the beautiful sunrise on the northeast face of Taulliraju mount (5830 m). After breakfast, we will start walking up toward Tupa Tupa pass (4360 m), where we will enjoy taking pictures of mount Taulliraju and Ancash jungle. Finally we will descend until our camp site at Huecrococha. Overnight camp at Huecrococha.

DAY 7: Huecrococha camp (3900 m) – Pucaraju pass (4640 m) – Tuctu camp (4200 m)
(Trek time: 6 hours, ascent & descent)

After breakfast we will start walking up toward Pucaraju pass (4640 m), where we will enjoy beautiful snowcapped peaks as Taulliraju (5830 m), Pucajirca group (6050 m), Artezonraju (6025 m), Chacraraju (6112 m), Yanapaccha (5460 m), Chopicalqui (6354 m), and mount Huascaran (6768 m). Finally we will walk down until Tuctu camp site (4200 m). Overnight camp at Tuctu.

DAY 8: Tuctu camp (4200 m) – Punta Union pass (4750 m) – Alpamayo base camp (4300 m)
(Trek time: 6 hours, ascent & descent)

Today we start walking up on moderate with some steep section toward Punta Union pass (4750 m). When we reach the pass we will enjoy splendid views on a clear day. There are many snowcapped peaks around us, such as Taulliraju (5830m), Pucajirca (6050 m), Quitaraju (6040 m), Artezonraju mount (6025 m). We will also see glacier lagoons as Taullicocha, Arhuaycocha, Jatuncocha and Ichiccocha lake on Santa Cruz valley. Then we continue with our trek, walking down Taullipampa until Arhuaycocha. Overnight camp at Alpamayo mount base camp.

DAY 9: Alpamayo base camp (4300 m) – Llamacoral camp (3760 m)
(Trek time: 5 hours, descent)

After breakfast we will visit beautiful the turquoise glacier lagoon of Arhuaycocha (4450 m), where we will enjoy impressive views of the huge sharp mountains around us: Quitaraju (6040 m), Alpamayo (5947 m), Pucahirca (6050 m), Artezonraju (6025 m), Caraz (6025 m). Then we walk down along Santa Cruz valley, on the way down passing by Jatuncocha lake, where we will have lunch. Finally we continue walking down until Llamacoral camp site (3750 m). Last night camp at Llamacoral.

DAY 10: Llamacoral camp (3760 m) – Cashapampa (2970 m) – Huaraz
(Trek time: 4 hours, descent/ driving time: 3 hours)

After breakfast we will start walking down toward Cashapampa village (2970 m), where our private transport is waiting for us to take us back to Huaraz.
