Want to try out ice climbing? Then where better than Iceland! You can go on this day trip ice climbing in Sólheimajökull either as a beginner wanting to learn the basics of the technique, or as an experienced climber who wants to practice in the land of the glaciers.
I will provide you with top-quality equipment and take detailed care of every safety aspect. This way, you will have a safe and fun experience in the fascinating Sólheimajökull glacier, a place you won’t easily forget!
Starting from Reykjavik, we will drive to the beautiful south coast to go ice climbing in Sólheimajökull glacier. Once there, we will go over the basic techniques, and how to use the equipment. Then we will go straight up to the ice!
I like to keep the groups small in order to make sure everybody can receive personalized attention. With a minimum of 2 people, we can go out and do this trip year round. The total time of the day trip is 10-11 hours, of which we will be 3 or 4 on the ice.
But the trip isn’t over once we get off the ice. On the way back to Reykjavik we will visit and admire Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, two iconic waterfalls of Iceland’s beautiful south coast (although the visits to the falls are subject to the remaining daylight during the winter months).
I can also organize this trip without the transfer from Reykjavik, just let me know what your travel plans are.
So contact me if you are interested in going ice climbing in Sólheimajökull. If you are coming to Iceland, the land of fire and ice, climbing in a glacier is a must!
